What’s your favourite dress of all time? Over the years I don’t think I have ever thrown a good dress away. And I don’t mean just luxury dresses either. Sometimes you just know a dress is ‘right’ for you. In my view a good dress won’t date. Trends come and go. One of the reasons I stock Preloved dresses, depending on what you are look for, is a fashion fantastic dress doesn’t have to break the bank.

Personal Favourites

I have a few Dolce and Gabbana dresses I’ll never part with. For me, the look and fit was so perfect, nothing will ever replace them.  Back in the day, maybe 30 or 40 years ago, a high street brand was producing wonderful frocks in bold patterns and colours in quality fabrics – often cotton. You probably know the one I am talking about. They sold lovely handknits too. I have a few of those dresses too and they are irreplaceable. I remember packing those before anything else for a holiday of a lifetime in Panarea. I don’t mind owning up to being the proud owner of dresses that are 30 or 40 years old! Times change. As they say, they just don’t make them like that anymore.

Thankfully designers like Dolce and Gabbana are producing quality dresses at a range of price points and  since the D & G label folded, the brand is committed to producing some more affordable dress options, not just the high-end designs. There are now good entry level options if you care to go looking.

A Favourite Dress Is Like An Old Friend

A favourite dress is like an old friend. Something to return to time and time again. Buy well and a dress really will see you through the ages. Spend your money on the cut and the fabric and there is no reason why today’s purchases won’t be your future favourites. If you are like me there are some dresses, you’ll just never part with.
