I thought it might be fun to have a dress of the week feature where I can highlight some of my favourites that you might like too.
Here she is Orange Tulle Dolce and Gabbana dress.
In a word, gorgeous.
I had to go to Italy to source this in a size 12 (IT 44) but it was worth it. One of my favourite Dolce and Gabbana dresses. Ever. Collections do tend to have ‘star’ dresses and for my taste, this is one of those dresses.
The colour is perhaps not to everyone’s taste but being brunette myself I am partial to a bit of bright, saturated orange. But my mantra is not to fall in love with the merch. So far so good.
A word of caution. While the dress is as flattering as you’d expect from a Dolce and Gabbana dress the fabric is lightweight so it’s not going to suit everyone. As a result it’s possibly not as forgiving as some other similar dresses in heavier fabrics.
That said. If you are looking for a head turner, this could be it. I’d have no hesitation in wearing this as a day or evening dress. Who needs black anyway?
I’d wear it with white (or orange!) accessories for daytime events and black accessories in the evenings. A string of pearls would work for either.
If you are looking for a flattering dress in a heavier weight fabric I have just added a fringed geranium print dress in a size 10. It’s a knockout too, the wrap effect is cleverly done so there is absolutely no chance of gaping fabric.
But back to the orange tulle dress. I think if you want to look elegant and feminine then this is the one. It harks back to some of Dolce and Gabbana’s archive supermodel dresses but has been given a contemporary twist by the clever use of tulle fabric. I just love it and hope you do too.
