Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2022 styles won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Debuting on the catwalk in a show called DG Light, its hallmarks are playfulness, reflective embellishments and a nod to Dolce & Gabbana’s noughties collections from 2000 onwards. But for my money, one of the very best things about any Dolce & Gabbana collection is you can find something for everyone. From the more body conscious pieces aimed at Gen Z to the more classic pieces (dress and suits) strongly associated with the brand.

This is not a collection designed with restraint. Rather, perhaps an antidote to lockdown dressing down. A show for dressing people up ready to go back out again and take on the world. Be invincible in your favourite Dolce & Gabbana looks. And don’t forget, any collection is more than the sum of its parts with non runway looks being snapped up by fashion buyers.

From the show itself some of my favourite looks include this poppy red dress. A classic Dolce & Gabbana shape using a bold print. I also like this barely there mini dress. Dresses with laced up sides or front/back panels are back in this collection. I like this black laced at the sides midi dress. For something different this Dolce & Gabbana black pant suit is a stylish alternative to a dress. Dolce & Gabbana’s women’s pant suits are definitely a ‘thing’. Just like their dresses. There was also a fair amount of layering, use of clashing fabrics and bra and crop tops feature strongly. It remains to be seen how much of the ‘barely there’ styles the UK retailers pick up. What works in Sorrento, may not work in Edinburgh or London although many of the runway looks would be fabulous for clubbing! There are many different looks featured in the catwalk show. Definitely worth a browse.

Dolce & Gabbana has also introduced different lines e.g. Hot Stuff, Renaissance, Tradizione.

Let’s turn our attention to what’s available now. What new season’s pieces from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring /Summer collection can you buy right now? You’ll find stores are currently selling a mix of stock carried over and ‘new in’ pieces.
