Designer midi dresses – below the knee length – is my personal favourite dress length and it seems I am not the only one who prefers this style of dress. A midi dress can be a versatile staple of your wardrobe too regardless of whether you are looking for day or evening wear. Throw some ruching into the mix and I am very happy indeed. Ruching can hide a multitude of sins and draw the eye to specific parts of the body. Clever indeed. Plus, I would say, if choosing a designer dress, pay particular attention to the inside of the dress. That’s because designers like Dolce and Gabbana do.

These preferences influence what I source for A Good Frock where you will find plenty of midi dress options, often designed by Dolce and Gabbana, but not exclusively. By choosing your designer well, you’ll have a dress that is truly figure flattering and will stand the test of time. You don’t have to pick an established name, there’s much to be said for supporting up and coming designers. But by going for an established name your treading a well-worn path.

Designer Midi Dresses for All Occasions

A Good Frock stocks a small but carefully edited collection of designer dresses – including many below knee length. Of necessity the collection is small as it’s home based as I have been shielding. I am not sure when to stop! Midi dresses are disproportionately represented as I think a dress falling below the knee is the most wearable dress length for most women – of any age. You can browse New, Preloved and Vintage dresses. I add stock sporadically.

Current Stock

Designer midi stock includes dresses by Dolce and Gabbana and a dress by Christopher John Rogers, an up-and-coming US designer. The white on black Dolce and Gabbana polka dot dress is a personal favourite and is worn off the shoulder (not quite as shown in the photo). It’s a real workhouse and would turns its hand for day, or evening wear. Likewise, the fringed geranium print dress by Dolce and Gabbana would also work hard in your wardrobe. For an all-out evening dress, the ruched Coral dress by Christopher John Rogers is a body con option. By avoiding wearing black you’ll stand out in a crowd.
